Summary

Ines Segarra is the Tourism Attaché of the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York.
An award-winning travel industry professional, Segarra has been with the Tourism Board of Argentina for more than 10 years and has been active in the industry in New York for 15 years. Her expertise covers the industry spectrum from luxury hospitality to congresses and incentives, sightseeing tours and inbound tour operation. Her depth of experience in both sales and marketing and the meetings and incentive segment is unparalleled.
Was a successful Director of the Argentina Tourism Board for the Northeast and Midwest U.S. and for Eastern Canada. In her role, she was responsible for trade, corporate and press initiatives in markets with major significance to the tourism industry of Argentina.
Prior to joining the Argentina Tourism Board, Segarra was the Manager for Tourco, an inbound operator based in New York after serving as Latin America Sales & Marketing Director for New York Double-Decker Tours.
She began her career in Buenos Aires as Sales & Operations Manager at Tennant’s Travel Agency dealing with the North American, Australian and New Zealand markets focusing on congresses, conventions and incentives. She moved to Medinah SA, an Argentinean/Israeli wholesaler and inbound operator as Inbound Division Manager with responsibility for such major events as the Basketball World Cup in 1990. In 1991, she was named Director of Marketing and Sales for the Hotel Internacional Iguazu, a five-star property overlooking the Falls in Iguazu National Park. Four years later, she founded Argentina’s first full-service incentive and marketing company.
Segarra’s contributions have been recognized by the industry. She was named Member of the Year three years in a row by SITE Argentina and received the Incentive Travel Personality award from IT&ME and EIBTM in 1996. She was elected President of SITE Argentina in 1995 and 1996 and served on SITE’s International Board of Directors, representing South and Central America and the Caribbean in 1997 and 1998. She has been a professor at the CISH, International School of Hoteliers and has written numerous seminars, including the first Introduction to Incentive Travel in Spanish.
Segarra studied business administration at the Centro de Estudios Latinoamericano in Rosario, Argentina and continued with marketing courses in New York. She studied English at Cambridge University in England and economics, compute
