Originally formed as a rowing club in 1881-82, the current wooden building was established in 1914, with boat storage downstairs and a dance hall upstairs. Although this grand old lady still has graceful curves overlooking the sparkling waters of Akaroa Harbour, she keeps a more dignified pace these days, when drawing people together.

The Akaroa Village Inn has 30 serviced apartments which vary from studio to three bedrooms and can accommodate up to 115 persons. Set in the heart of Akaroa Village on the Banks Peninsula, yet secluded and less than 90 minutes from Christchurch, the conference and wedding venue at the Inn promises hassle-free function hire with relaxing surroundings and welcoming staff.
